COVID-19 | Update for 13 March 2020
COVID-19 is likely to have a significant, but hopefully short-term, impact on the consulting industry as we all try to look after our employees and our clients. The aim of this email is, briefly, to set out how we plan to be of help:
- Recognising that information is critical, we’re working to build a model that charts and predicts the impact of COVID-19 on demand for consulting services. The model will be based on applying a set of assumptions to our existing and very extensive model of the industry, and the plan is to update it on a weekly basis, as we learn more about transmission rates and the impact that the pandemic is having on different industries and geographies.
- The output of the model—in the form of forecasts broken down by industry and by key geographies—will be made available, free of charge, to everyone, in order to help firms plan as effectively as possible over the next few months.
- We’ll distribute regular updates by email to all of our contacts, and you’ll be welcome to forward those emails to anyone you think might benefit from seeing them, or to let us know if you’d like us to add anyone to our mailing list. We hope to have the first update ready sometime during the course of next week.
- For the foreseeable future, all reports in our Market Trends programme will contain a special insert, adjusting our forecasts and views of the market in question (these reports are organised by geography and sector) to allow for the impact of COVID-19.
How you can help: The accuracy of our model will depend on us having as much information as we possibly can about what’s going on. If you have a moment, we’d really appreciate you answering a few quick questions here.
In the meantime, for however long the situation persists and in whatever form we can, our whole team stands ready to help you.
