A buyer's thoughts on value with Paul Alexander, BP

Posted

Procurement specialists have a unique perspective when it comes to the value generated by consulting firms. As the stakeholders in an organisation responsible for ensuring value for money from supplier relationships, they are often the people tasked with monitoring the long-term value-add (or lack thereof) of individual consulting partners and are able to make an assessment of it in the context of value created by other types of service providers.

To understand how one organisation thinks about the value of their consultants, we sat down with Paul Alexander—Head of GBS Procurement for EMEA at BP. Paul has thought about this topic longer than almost anyone, and was kind enough to share with us his philosophy when it comes to value.
